Visit of the artist Laura Drever

Image
Laura Drever visited all the P3 classes to help the children create their own settings by working with the medium of paint and small sticks to create different textures. These settings will be used at a later date as a stimulus for story writing. The children really enjoyed using large and small brushes on proper artist's paper.

3E visited the K.G.S. to learn about healthy eating from Mrs. MacLean (William's mum). They read the instructions, measured the ingredients and followed the instructions. They learned about a balanced diet and how different foods helped different parts of the body to work well. What a fun day !  Mrs. MacLean showed us the difference between white and wholmeal flour.

P3M baking at KGS P3M had a great time making Microwave Macaroni and Cheese. Mrs Maclean helped us learn about the Eatwell Guide.  We also realised how much we learn by cooking and baking.

Lindsay Taylor from the RSPB came to the P3 classes to help them learn how to look after the birds in winter. The children made fat balls, learnt to identify common birds and got ready for the BIG Garden Birdwatch this weekend.  Everyone got messy, learnt lots and had fun!
