We really enjoyed going to KGS and baking with Mrs MacLean. The recipe is in one of the photos if you want to make them at home, but add 1tsp each of the 'Magic Powders' (baking soda and cream of tartar) and a tablespoon of milk.
Floating and Sinking We have had fun this week experimenting with objects that float and sink. We are enjoying hearing what you have done at home and what you have noticed at the swimming pool. Here are some of the things we have been doing in class. We predicted which items would float and which would sink. Then we tested them to check. We recorded what we found out. Then we made boats. We could choose what to make them out of. The challenge was to make a boat that could hold our toy sheep for 30 seconds. This was hard, as some boats would float but couldn't hold a weight. The winners! Many of you kept on working on your boats to make them better and took them home to carry on experimenting. Well done!
We had a visit from Tesco Community Champion Paula, who took along lots of samples of fruit and vegetables to show us lots of different kinds of seeds.
This week we have had fun in P1 and P2 learning a different Nursery Rhyme each day. We have had fun activities in class to help us to remember them and to think about rhyming words. We finished up today with a Royal Procession out of Assembly and then a Royal Party this afternoon. We were led by our very own King Cole!
